Buyers and Sellers  alike ask the million dollar question: What is it worth?  In today's market with fewer sales, short sales, foreclosures , it is more challenging than ever before to answer the question.  Realtors use a method called a CMA, lenders use  what is called a BPO, and there are AVM's automated valuation method (think Zillow), all of which can make or break a sale, if one is not dealing with an experienced realtor in today's market.

What are the qualities of an experienced realtor?  First and foremost , an experienced realtor has a demonstrated sales history, and a  comitmment to excellence which is indicated by the CRS designation, the highest designation held by only 4% of realtors. The realtor should be able to  easily explain the methods a buyer or seller may encounter in determining value and provide solutions if problems arise in the financing process.  Look for experience, demonstrated expertise and honest communication and you will have found the realtor who will be able to answer to your satisfaction :" What is it worth?"     

Today  was a mild December day and probably the the last time I will row Gloucester harbor in the gig until next season.  What's my gig?  My gig is a wooden boat, with a 7 person crew, 6 rowers and a coxswain.  We are a community boating club  affilated with the Gloucester Maritime Center located on  the inner harbor loop in Gloucester. Gigs were originally built in the 1800's, gig rowers would race out to meet the clipper ships.  Whoever won the race got paid by the Captain to be rowed ashore.  Today the gig rowers, row to recreate and we race other rowing clubs throughout New England. It was a magnificent day on the harbor and I am never disappointed with the scenery.  I am pulled by the tides and the winds and the beauty of Gloucester Harbor.

Although I live in Beverly, I am part of the entire North Shore community.  I have another Gig, I am a Realtor. A couple of years ago, our team wanted to express our gratitude at Thanksgiving, to the buyer and seller clients who entrusted us with the representation of their real estate needs.  We wanted to give something which expressed a sense of "home."   We came up with the idea of hand delivering a home baked good.  Great idea, but what realtor has the  the time to bake even if we know how ???  Through word of mouth we were introduced to Taryn Manzi and we are grateful!

 Taryn Manzi , a local Beverly artist,  graphic designer and graduate of Mass College of Art, expresses her creative passion  through her small baking business: Designer Cakes and Baked Goods .  Taryn loves the joy her  "sweet stuff" brings to the people and occasions for which she is hired to bake.  The weekend before Thanksgiving, Taryn makes dozens of Thanksgiving breads, which our team hand delivers to the folks who we have helped with their real estate needs and they in return have enabled us to provide for our own families . We know first hand the delight Taryn brings when a person receives her confections.
