Just as winter is winding down and the days are getting lighter, so is the rel estate market showing sustained light at the end of the long tunnel of depressed value. The chart below shows the trending of sales. Six (6) months of inventory is considered a balanced market, more than 6 months, the market is more in favor of the buyer, less than 6 months, the market favors the seller. This is a welcome relief for homeowners who have watched their equity shrink. Pleas contact us to find out about the value of your home in today's market. You will not be disappointed! Last summer , some family members and myself ranging in age from 18 to mid 50's rented paddle boards at Paddle Board New England, located on Water Street in Beverly, MA. We got a 1/2 hour lesson , which was very helpful and headed out to the open seas (not)! We did paddle over to Salem Willows and hung out on the board. We paddled past Independence Park in Beverly and by Jubilee Yacht Club.
I am in the older catergory of the group mentioned and had one of the nicest days of the summer. It was July 4th, no highway travel or long lines. The weather was perfect. Of course I fell off the board several times, which only added to the fun. At the end of our 2 hours, I wanted to buy a board, learn to paddle, maybe even surf...... yes, I do dream.
I was pleased to see 20 to 50% sale at Paddle Board New England and stopped by for the details. Yes, they are relocating and yes, I will follow the them to Swampscott. Stop by and see the stuff for sale, summer will be here before you know it.
Many times something must end for another thing to start. Labor Day heralds the end of summer and this ending is challenging for me. I love the long, warm, sunny , relaxing days of summer. I enjoy the beaches from Beverly to Maine. I love to row under a full moon. September signals the ending of all this, beaches are empty , days shorten, endings to pleasant experiences are sad.
September is also a season of new begininngs. The students return for a new school year. The stores have new inventories for Fall. Even rowing has a new rigor in September mornings. September is also a new beginning for buyers and sellers.
Buyers start again the search for the dream home that wasn't on the market in the Spring. Sellers may reconsider the price of a property which did not generate the hoped for offer. Somethings have not changed, record low prices and rates. This continues to be a generational opportunity to purchase real estate!
